Download Genie Scout

Which Football Manager does it work with?

Genie Scout 26 reads Football Manager 26, every update from 26.0 to 26.3.2. Each new FM update needs a Genie Scout update to match, and Genie Scout installs it itself the next time you start it.

Football Manager 27 needs Genie Scout 27, which arrives with FM 27.

Steam, Xbox/PC Game Pass or Console?

All three, as long as Football Manager runs on the same Windows PC as Genie Scout: FM 26 through Steam, FM 26 through Xbox/PC Game Pass, or Football Manager 26 Console. Genie Scout cannot read a game running on a games console.

In-Game Scout, the card over the game, needs FM 26 on PC through Steam or Xbox/PC Game Pass. It does not work with Console.

Does it work on a Mac?

No. Genie Scout is a Windows program, and there is no Mac or Linux version.

What does it need?

A 64-bit Windows PC, and Football Manager running with your save loaded. Start FM, load your save and wait until it has finished loading, then press Load Game (Ctrl+G) in Genie Scout. It reads the career FM has open, so there is no save file to pick.

The installer asks for administrator rights; Genie Scout itself runs without them.

Does it change my save or the game?

No. Genie Scout opens Football Manager only to read it, never to write to it, and it never opens your save file. In-Game Scout reads the same way. Genie Scout is not an editor: it cannot change a player or anything else in your game.

What goes back to FM is up to you: a shortlist you save is a file that FM's own Shortlists screen imports.

Free or g edition?

The download is the free edition. The g edition adds nine features, such as In-Game Scout and Find Similar Players, without ads, and upgrades the copy you installed.

Where do I get help?

On FM Scout, Genie Scout's official home: the Genie Scout hub, and the Genie Scout forum for questions and bug reports. Inside Genie Scout, Help and Support › Report Bug sends a report to us from the app.
